This is one of the simplest meals that I make, but it is so delicious, and my whole family loves it!

Here’s what you will need:

First, cut the cabbage in half. Wrap one half and refrigerate it for later (I’ll be using it for cole slaw in a few days). Cut the remaining half in half again, cut out the core, and slice thinly. 

Slice up the kielbasa sausage. You can also use a pre-cooked chicken sausage if you’d like.

Now, place a tablespoon of oil over medium high heat in a large skillet. Add the cabbage and sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt. Saute until the cabbage wilts and softens, 5 to 8 minutes. 

Add the sliced sausage and the jar of marinara and bring to a simmer. Simmer 5 to 8 minutes, until sausage is heated through. 

I’m serving it with homemade soft rye dinner rolls. Follow my recipe for soft dinner rolls, using 100 grams dark rye flour and 200 grams bread flour. After it’s kneaded, add 1 teaspoon of caraway seeds and pulse a couple of times to incorporate. 

Rye bread is a classic flavor that pairs really well with both cabbage and sausage.
